A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). The USS Citadel was a 24th century Federation starship, a Galaxy-class battleship in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. (ST video game: Armada)

Service history and disposition[]

The derelict Citadel in .

The derelict Citadel in the Junkyard.

The USS Citadel had entered service by around stardate 53550.8[2] in 2376, following the end of the Dominion War. In that year, this vessel and its sister ships operated in the galaxy's Alpha and Beta Quadrants. (ST video game: Armada)

At some point, the Citadel was left derelict near a black hole in the region of space known as "the Junkyard". The Citadel was one of a number of vessels that could still be salvaged from the wreckage. In 2376, this star system was contested between four factions. (ST video game: Armada instant action: "The Junkyard")

In the same year and during the events of the Borg invasion, Starfleet operated an Akira-class destroyer named the USS Citadel. (ST video game: Armada)

Six months later, in 2377, the Citadel was one of several Galaxy-class battleships operated by Starfleet in the Alpha, Beta and Delta Quadrants during the next Borg invasion and a renewed conflict between the Borg Collective and Species 8472. (ST video game: Armada II)

The Galaxy-class Citadel was one of the starships active in 2379 that appeared in training simulation scenarios used by Lieutenant Commander Carey at Starfleet Academy. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "Tutorial: Movement")
