Service history and dispositionEdit
The Columbia was the first mark II Excelsior-class vessel to be contracted by Starfleet, launched around reference stardate 2/2302 in the 2280s decade, officially undergoing ship commissioning shakedown trials began shortly after on stardate 2/2400. (FASA RPG module: Federation Starship Recognition Manual)
This ship was used, in simulated form, bearing the registry NCC-2014, as the main player Excelsior-class vessel in one of the Starfleet Academy bridge crew training simulations for the class of the year 2288. As such, she had to be "self-destructed" to seal a tear in the space-time continuum to free the Coalition ship Renown and Klingon ship IKS Dekta'ah from the year 2504. (TOS video game: Starfleet Academy)
- This ship was seen in-game with the given name and registry number clearly written on her hull in a simulated mission from the game's expansion pack, Starfleet Academy: Chekov's Lost Missions.
