The USS Crockett (NCC-38995) was a Federation Excelsior-class explorer in service to Starfleet in the 24th century, and was one of a number of vessels named for Davy Crockett, a hero of Earth's North American history.
Circa stardate 34675.8, the Crockett was assigned to the planet Zeon, as part of the Federation's ongoing efforts to bring peace between that world and the neighboring planet Ekos. A member of the Crockett crew, Lieutenant Shewer Freeman, was killed during an Ekosian attack. (SCE eBook: Fables of the Prime Directive)
In 2370, the Crockett transported Admiral Mitsuya to Deep Space 9. (DS9 episode: "Paradise")
In 2376, the Crockett was sent into the Badlands to find a "lost" Maquis colony on Prussura IV, but found the colony abandoned. (New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "The Specter of Jamestown")
Later that year, the Crockett had been either destroyed or decommissioned and a new ship named Crockett had taken its place. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)
