The USS DeWitt (NCC-96047) was a Federation Typhoon-class starship in Starfleet service in the early 25th century.
In 2409, the DeWitt led a Starfleet task force dispatched to the Alhena system to retake a starbase occupied by the Klingon Defense Force. The KDF obliterated the task force and disabled the DeWitt. A KDF team boarded the battleship and fought the crew until the captain, John Hollingsworth, was subdued. After he was forced to reveal the Sol system defense codes, the boarding party returned to their ship, which then used the DeWitt for target practice. A synchronic proton distortion prototype assault rifle, acquired from the DeWitt, went into the possession of the Klingon Imperial Intelligence. (STO mission: "Spin the Wheel")

Due to the coding of Star Trek Online, the DeWitt may occasionally appear in "Second Star" as an Armitage or Prometheus-class starship rather than as a Typhoon. However it is normally a Typhoon. As of Season 10, the DeWitt is now a Geneva-class
