The USS Deerslayer was a Federation starship, a Voyager-class vessel in Starfleet service in the early 23rd century. This ship was in active service around the 2240s decade, commanded by Captain Roger Trautmann.
On reference stardate 1/84, Deerslayer took part in the largest rescue operation in space travel history to date, searching for and helping recover the escape pods of 600 survivors of the starliner ship Juliana, trapped in a far-flung sector by a space warp. Captain Trautmann used a captain's log entry to recommend Juliana Captain Demetrius Kovanas for a posthumous Federation Medal of Honor for his efforts in setting off a flare of the Juliana engines exploding to attract the rescuers to their position.
