The USS Drake was a Federation starship, a Venture-class scout in Starfleet service in the 24th century. This ship was in active service around the 2370s decade. (ST video games: Armada, Armada II)

History[]

In July 2376, the Drake was assigned to Outpost 40 in orbit of Ba'ku in the Briar Patch. When renegade Son'a attacked the starbase, Ambassador Worf of the USS Avenger took command of the ships stationed at Ba'ku to defend the outpost. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Paradise Revisited")

On Stardate 53551.3 (July 20, 2376), the USS Enterprise-E found the USS Drake adrift near Starbase 612 following a surprise attack by the Borg Collective. Captain Jean-Luc Picard had away teams transport to the Drake and the rest of the derelict fleet. The Drake returned to duty in time to ward off further Borg attacks and destroy their base in the sector. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Dark Omens")

Later that month, the Drake participated in a Starfleet operation in the Tau Dewa sector block, surveying Eridon Prime, nebulae and a black hole. When Locutus led a Borg incursion into the sector in search for a secret Romulan starbase, the Borg attacked ships and outposts of various species to gain resources, including Starfleet. (ST video game: Armada mission: "Assimilation")

USS Drake was still in active service in 2377. (ST video game: Armada II)

No specific history or definitive final fate was established for this vessel in Armada II as its name was selected for a scout by the game developers, and is placed randomly each time the ship appears. This ship was most likely named for people, places and ships of Earth's history, most notably Sir Francis Drake.
