The USS Earhart (NCC-97937) was a Federation starship, an Earhart-class strike wing escort prototype in Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. The ship was named, and its class based upon, the Engle-class vessel USS Earhart (NCC-1052) from the 2250s decade. (STO website: Season 18: Awakening: Strike Wing Escort Bundle!)
Service history[]
The Earhart was part of a series of prototypes for new starship classes based on vessels active during the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-2257. It was launched alongside its Klingon Defense Force counterpart, the IKS Sech. The two ships performed joined operations and tested their innovative equipment: a universal console for cascading gravimetric disruptions, and the subatomic field disruptor experimental weapon.
Being tactically oriented carriers, both ships hosted wings of fighter pets. A complement of Class C shuttlecraft was stationed aboard the Earhart. (STO website: Season 18: Awakening: Strike Wing Escort Bundle!)
