The USS Edison was a Federation science vessel starship in service during the 23rd century.
Service history and disposition[]
In 2269, Edison was under the commmand of Captain Daniel Fontana. That year, ship's personnel went insane within an anomalous energy field, coming to believe that they weren't in the prime reality, but rather were trapped in a television show. Edison was made to power a Fontana drive reactor that seemed to bridge alternate realities. The crew of the USS Enterprise were able to recover the vessel and its personnel.
