The USS Endurance (NCC-5265)[1] was a 23rd century Federation starship, an Essex-class explorer in Starfleet service in the 2270s decade.
History and specifications[]
At some point in the mid-23rd century, Shuttle 02 of the Endurance, piloted by operations division and science division officers, landed on a planet to meet an Andorian trader at a campfire. The Andorian gestured wildly while entertaining the pair of Endurance officers. (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2020 March image: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat")
At some point after, Shuttle 02 passed a planetary ring while returning to the Endurance during the planetary breakup debris field survey of M4747. (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2021 August image: "Planetary Breakup Debris Field Survey of M4747")
The breakup of planet M4747 had previously been observed by the USS Andraste and the USS Yeager decades earlier. (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2021 August image: "Planetary Breakup Debris Field Survey of M4747")
The Endurance was active in 2274. In that year, the status of the Endurance became relevant during the liberation of Zaran II by the USS Enterprise. (TOS novel: Triangle)

Background[]
- The Endurance was first mentioned in the TOS novel: Triangle by Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath.
- The registry number was revealed by Shuttle 02's appearance in the month of March image of the 2020 edition of the Ships of the Line calendars. The image was made by artist Bill Krause.
- In the September image of the SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2020, Krause shows Shuttle 02 together with its mothership. The ship is revealed to take visual cues from the Crossfield-class and Planet of the Titans studio models.
