The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-F) was a 24h and 25th century Federation starship, initially an Odyssey-class star cruiser[1] and, after a refit, a Yorktown-class dreadnought[2] in Starfleet service. Commanding officers of this vessel include Fleet Admiral Elizabeth Shelby and Captain Va'Kel Shon. (PIC episode: "Võx"; STO - Lost Dominion mission: "Boldly They Rode")

Service history and disposition

2386-2401

USS-Enterprise-F

The Enterprise-F in 2401.

The Enterprise-F was launched in the year 2386. The Enterprise-F replaced the Sovereign-class USS Enterprise-E. The new Odyssey-class starship was commanded by several captains over the next fifteen years.

In the early 25th century, the Enterprise-F participated in a rescue effort to Fenton IV termed the Monfette Gambit. During the attempted rescue of Raillian refugees, critical systems aboard the Enterprise-F were compromised. (Instagram - Star Trek Logs - Picard post: U.S.S. Enterprise - Starship Record)

In 2401, it was announced the Enterprise-F was scheduled for early decommissioning. (PIC episode: "The Next Generation")

The event was held on 12 April 2401. Fleet Admiral Elizabeth Shelby was in command of the Enterprise during the Frontier Day ceremony. The ship demonstrated the fleet formation technology alongside other attending Starfleet ships after the Enterprise emerged, accompanied by fireworks, from Probert Station. The crew was compromised by the Borg, and the entire fleet taken over by the Borg Collective. (PIC episode: "Võx")

The Enterprise-F was apparently taken out of service, replaced by a new Enterprise, the USS Enterprise-G. (PIC episode: "The Last Generation")

2409

STO Ent

The Enterprise-F in 2409.

At the turn of the 2410s decade, around the year 2409, the Enterprise-F was slated to be commissioned for service as a new vessel. Captain Data was offered command of the vessel, but ultimately refused. (STO short story: "Unexpected Honor")

Following the destruction of the USS Belfast, Captain Shon and many of the other surviving crew members of that ship were reassigned to the Enterprise. (STO - Lost Dominion mission: "Boldly They Rode")

This was in response to Data's recommendation. (STO short story: "Unexpected Honor")

One of the ship's first engagements was as part of a fleet to retake Deep Space 9 from a brief accidental Dominion occupation of the station. The station was successfully recovered. (STO - Lost Dominion mission: "Boldly They Rode")

The Enterprise deployed Shon to an Iconian gateway on New Romulus. Shon's first officer Commander Samuel Winters subsequently commanded the ship in battle against an Elachi fleet that entered the Jouret system through a space gate. After the battle was over the Enterprise scanned the gateway only to have its computers automatically lock up in accordance with the Omega Directive after detecting Omega particles. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Sphere of Influence")

Later the Enterprise followed the RRW Lleiset and IKS Bortasqu' through another gate over the star at the center of the Solanae Dyson sphere and engaged an Undine fleet that blasted its way into the Jenolan Dyson sphere. Shon then became embroiled in a three-way standoff with the other two flagships' captains over political control of the sphere, which was temporarily defused by some fast talking by Rear Admiral Tuvok. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "A Step Between Stars")

2410

The Enterprise-F later returned to the Jenolan Dyson Sphere as part of a Federation delegation present at a summit to discuss ownership of the sphere as well as the threat posed by the Undine. The summit was cut short when a massive Undine armada appeared, using the Iconian gateway in the Jenolan sphere to enter the Alpha Quadrant and launch an assault on Earth. The Enterprise-F secured Luna while the flagships of the Romulan Republic and Klingon Empire eliminated the Undine vessels over Earth. Once it was discovered that the attack was a diversion to the Undine's true target of Qo'noS, the Enterprise gathered as many Starfleet vessels as possible before heading to the Klingon homeworld to assist in the counterattack. During the battle, the Undine revealed a massive new planet-killer, Captain Shon using the Enterprise-F's USS Aquarius attack craft to destroy it by ramming it head-on. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Surface Tension")

Later that year, the Enterprise-F participated in Starfleet's final stand against the Iconians in the Sol system. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Midnight")

Enterprise-F refit

The Enterprise as Odyssey-class (left) and Yorktown-class star cruiser.

The Enterprise suffered extreme structural damage at the Second Battle of Earth. Starfleet towed the Enterprise to Mars. Shon's ship underwent a refit to Yorktown-class configuration. (STO - Emergence short story: "Jayce's Navy Interstellar: Through the Valley")

SOTL 2022 September

Fighting at Deep Space 9 against the Drantzuli.

The Enterprise joined the defense of Bajor against the Tzenkethi Coalition, and later the awakened Drantzuli. (STO - New Frontiers mission: "Scylla and Charybdis")

2411

The Enterprise, alongside the IKS Bortasqu' and the AFS Khitomer became embroiled on differing sides of the Klingon Civil War of 2411. Enterprise participated in the Strike at Seedea and the Battle of Khitomer. (STO - Klingon Civil War missions: "The Centre Cannot Hold", "Strike at Seedea", "The Khitomer Discord")

The revelation of Chancellor J'mpok's betrayal of the Khitomer Alliance was made public soon after, restoring honor to the names of Enterprise and Bortasqu, but leading to the Shattering of the Klingon Empire. (STO - Klingon Civil War mission: "Partisans")

ISS Enterprise-F 2411

Mirror counterpart ISS Enterprise-F.

The Enterprise carried Admiral Leeta during an incursion into the mirror universe. Leeta regained command of her ship, the Lexington-class dreadnought ISS Enterprise (NCC-1701-F). (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "The Calling")

In a follow-up fleet action, both Enterprises fought side by side to stop the machinations of Wesley Crusher, Emperor of the Terran Empire. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "Eye of the Storm")

Later service

During the Second Romulan War in the 2460s, the USS Hood and the USS Exeter followed the USS Enterprise into battle during "the atrocity on the edge of forever" in 2462, when a Romulan faction attacked the Rock of Ages. Starfleet suffered casualties and damage but succeeded in destroying the Romulan orbital warbase with nova torpedos. Captain Edward Sherwood of the Enterprise reported the outcome, including the Exeter and Hood participation, to Fleet Admiral Ian Kyle Riker and Admiral T'Min at Starfleet Headquarters over subspace. (ST - Strange New Worlds VII short story: "Guardians")

Alternate timelines

In alternate timelines, other versions of the Enterprise-F entered service in the late 24th or early 25th century.

Alternate 2382–2388

This section describes the alternate timeline Enterprise-F established as an Enterprise-class vessel in service from 2382 to 2388 in DS9 - Millennium novel: The War of the Prophets.

In the War of the Prophets, an alternate future encountered by the crew of the USS Defiant in 2374, the Enterprise-F was launched in 2382 following the destruction of the USS Enterprise-E, and was commanded by Admiral Jean-Luc Picard, who was later succeeded by Captain William T. Riker.

The Enterprise was lost with all hands, including Tom Paris, Geordi La Forge and Deanna Troi when the Grigari destroyed Earth in 2388.

The ship was the first of its class and it was stated that it was the Defiant to the tenth power. It also possessed a multi-vector assault mode; built with the purpose of combating the Grigari threat. (DS9 - Millennium novel: The War of the Prophets)

The timeline in which this vessel existed was aborted when the Defiant was returned to its own time, and the red wormholes were destroyed.

Alternate 2408

This section describes the alternate timeline Enterprise-F in the year 2408 in TNG novel: Imzadi.

In an alternate future timeline encountered by the crew of the USS Enterprise-D in 2368, the Enterprise-F was in service in 2408 and was commanded by Commodore Data. In this timeline, the Enterprise-F had a crew of 2,023, including a chameloid named Blair. (TNG novel: Imzadi)

The timeline in which this ship existed was aborted when Deanna Troi was saved from death in 2368.
