The USS Titan (NCC-80102-A), sometimes referred to as the Titan-A, was a Federation starship, a Constitution III-class ("Neo-Constitution") exploratory vessel[2] in service to Starfleet at the turn of the 25th century. Its commanding officer was Captain Liam Shaw.[1]
Following the Borg Invasion of 2401, Starfleet renamed the vessel to USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-G). Command was given to Shaw's former first officer, Seven of Nine. [3]
Service history and disposition[]
Titan-A[]
The Titan-A was launched in 2396. The Kelvin timeline alternate reality was visited by either the Titan-A, or a parallel reality version of the Titan, sometime around the year 2263 in their frame of reference. (ST video game: Fleet Command event: "Legacy, Part 2")
By the 2400s decade, the Titan had undergone at least one refit. By 2401, Captain Liam Shaw's first officer was Commander Seven of Nine, whom he insisted on going by "Annika Hansen". In that year, Admiral, ret. Jean-Luc Picard and Captain William T. Riker faked an inspection to direct the Titan-A to the Ryton star system. Picard and Riker were on an unauthorized rescue mission for Beverly Crusher. (PIC episode: "The Next Generation")
The crew learned of a widespread Changeling-infiltration of Starfleet. Commander Ro Laren sacrificed herself to disable the USS Intrepid. A majority of Titan personnel had transferred over to the Intrepid to aid in their ship's escape. (PIC episode: "Imposters")
The Titan was boarded and taken over by Vadic and the crew of the Shrike. (PIC episode: "Dominion")
Vadic and her minions killed numerous Titan crewmembers, including science officer Lieutenant T'Veen before control was retaken. Vadic and her boarding party were killed, and the Shrike destroyed. Seven clarified that her name was Seven of Nine. (PIC episode: "Surrender")
Captain Tuvok promoted Seven of Nine to captaincy. Shaw had recommended the promotion in his officer review before the mission to the Ryton system.[3]
Enterprise-G[]
To honor Jean-Luc Picard, his crew and the involvement of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) in thwarting the Borg Invasion of 2401, Starfleet renamed the Titan-A into Enterprise-G. Picard's and Beverly Crusher's son Ensign Jack Crusher was assigned to serve aboard in 2402. Captain Seven assigned Ensign Crusher as special counselor to the captain. On the bridge, Crusher sat to Seven's left, opposite her first officer, Commander Raffaela Musiker.[3]
Soon after, Crusher was visited by Q in his quarters.[3]
Legacy[]
In the 2410s decade. the name Titan was carried by the Titan-class destroyer prototype USS Titan (NCC-98100). (STO website: It's the Titan!)
