- For the primary universe counterpart, see USS Enterprise (NCC-1701).
The USS Enterprise (NCC-2101) was a starship from an alternate timeline where Trengur used time travel to assume control of Earth. The vessel was in service to Earthfleet in the 23rd century.
History[]
Circa stardate 3275.2, this Enterprise had been assigned to a time travel mission. Earthfleet officers James T. Kirk, Spock and Leonard McCoy were assigned to use the Guardian of Forever to plant antimatter bombs at key Federation outposts, including Gateway, while wearing fake Starfleet uniforms.
Their prime universe counterparts were transposed to this timeline. They had been assigned to pursue and arrest Trengur, who had escaped from an asylum on Oorego IV and fled to Gateway. The Starfleet officers followed him through the Guardian of Forever to 218 BC but were unable to prevent him from conquering the Roman Empire. When they returned to the present, they were in the altered timeline and beamed up to Earthfleet’s Enterprise, where they were hailed by alternate versions of Uhura, Sulu and Scott.
When Kirk hesitated to leave orbit immediately, with an antimatter bomb scheduled to detonate in less than ten minutes, Scott became suspicious. Scott brought an armed team to face Kirk, but Spock quickly applied a Vulcan neck pinch to Kirk, then lied to Scott to cover for them. As an excuse to get them back to the planet, McCoy told Scott that Kirk had contracted Bubonic Plague during his travels through time. Scott forced Kirk, Spock and McCoy off the ship. They then fled through the Guardian and appeared in the Alps during Hannibal’s march in 218 BC, prior to when they’d appeared the last time. This time they were able to apprehend Trengur. When they traveled back through the Guardian, they returned to the prime timeline. (TOS comic: "No Time Like the Past")
