The USS Eternal was a Federation starship, a tier 6 Eternal-class temporal multi-mission science vessel and prototype of its class in Starfleet service in the 31st century and 2410s decade. (STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Service history[]
The Eternal entered service in the 31st century. Like the Chronos-class temporal dreadnought and the Ouroboros-class temporal raider, the Eternal was designed for cross-temporal engagements during the Temporal Wars. Structurally, all three classes were based on the 29th century Wells-class temporal science vessel. When the Khitomer Alliance become involved in the 2410 front of the Temporal Cold War, the USS Eternal and some of its sister ships became active in that time period. They remained following the temporary closure of the front. (STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
From that year onward, the Eternal represented its class in the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interface. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Khitomer Alliance flag officer in, or aligned with, Starfleet, deployed the Eternal for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", admiralty system)
In 2554, the Eternal was among the ships deployed by Timot Danlen to the 26th century to participate in the Battle of Procyon V alongside the USS Enterprise-J. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Ragnarok")
By the 3050s, temporal guardianship had transferred into the hands of a civilian Federation authority, the Federation Temporal Agency. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)
