The USS Excalibur (initially NCC-94547, later NCC-78547) was a 24th century Federation starship, an Excalibur-class cruiser and prototype for its class in Starfleet service from the 2390s to the 2410s decades. The Excalibur was commissioned with the registry number NCC-94547 in the year 2391. Its design was an evolution of the venerable 23rd century Constitution-class. The Vesper-class USS Vesper was a cotemporary with a similar purpose, incorporating Excelsior-class elements into its design, in contrast with the Excalibur. In 2409, the Excalibur was assigned to Deep Space K-7 in the Sherman system and patrolled the space station's vicinity. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy")

The ship's registry number changed to NCC-78547 in 2411. (STO - Refractions mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

When Star Trek Online launched in 2010, the Excalibur was given the registry NCC-94547. This was changed to NCC-78547 in 2022 when the ship model was remastered.
