Service history and disposition[]
Federation II was a successor in the name following the service of a previous dreadnought, the prototype USS Federation. (ST reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual)
In particular, the Federation II was equipped as a heavy dreadnought (DNH) in a subclass of ships launched behind the lead vessel Babylon. (ST video games: Starfleet Command, Starfleet Command II: Empires at War)
