This unnamed helmsman was on bridge duty when the Fortuna was approaching the planet Betazed. The officer reported to Captain Lansing that the Fortuna was due to arrive in orbit of Betazed in twenty-seven minutes, in order for the bridge crew to throw an impromptu farewell party for the departing Lieutenant Riker. Replacement officer[]
Following the confirmation of Lieutenant Riker's reassignment to the USS Hood, a replacement officer was assigned to take over Riker's position. After Riker had learned that his assignment had been changed, he petitioned to remain aboard the Fortuna but was informed by Lansing that the replacement was already in place. (TNG novel: Imzadi)
