Service historyEdit

During the Federation-Klingon War of 2256, the USS Gagarin, USS Hoover and USS Muroc patrolled the same sector. After Kol, leader of the House of Kor, disseminated cloaking technology among Great Houses allied to him, the Klingons ambushed all three ships in this sector simultaneously stardate 1308.9 (November 2256). The Gagarin faced six imperial warships and sent a distress call when the warp drive failed. The USS Discovery responded the quickest thanks to its spore drive, and attempted to relieve the pressure on the Gagarin, but was unable to interdict a torpedo fired by a Klingon bird-of-prey. The loss of all the three Federation starships patrolling the sector resulted in 462 Starfleet casualties. (DSC episode: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum")
