The USS Gav'Nor[3] was a 31st century Federation[4] starship, a vessel in Starfleet[2] service in the 3060s decade. It was destroyed in the Burn, a galaxy-wide cataclysm. Its commanding officer was Captain Culbreath[2]. (DSC episode: "Scavengers", DSC novel: Wonderlands)

Service history and disposition[]

The Gav'Nor was a Cardassian vessel. It's black box used Cardassian technology. (DSC episode: "There Is A Tide...", The Ready Room aftershow)

The Gav'Nor was equipped with an active, dilithium-powered warp core. When the Burn occurred across the Milky Way Galaxy in 3069[5], the vessel was lost. Its black box survived the cataclysm. (DSC episode: "Unification III")

At the time of destruction, the Gav'Nor was located one thousand lightyears away from the USS Yelchin-E. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)

Legacy[]

In the year 3188, Michael Burnham of the USS Discovery investigated the cause of the Burn. (DSC episode: "Unification III")

She acquired the Gav'Nor's black box after Cleveland Booker had brought her the black box of the Yelchin. At the former Federation Spaceport Devaloka, acting communications chief Aditya Sahil and workshop owner Jeremiah of the Back Forty helped the couriers Burnham and Book to download the box's contents. Sahil identified Captain Culbreath from the personnel files scrolling past. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)

With the assistance of Ensign Sylvia Tilly, science officer Burnham determined the moment - down to the millisecond - of the destruction of the Gav'Nor, the USS Giacconi, and the USS Yelchin. (DSC episode: "Unification III")
