The USS Gold (NCC-95581) was a Federation Trident-class deep space science vessel in Starfleet service in the early 25th century. In 2409, the Gold operated inside the Jenolan Dyson Sphere. Its commanding officer was Captain Tren Renalla. (STO mission: "A Step Between Stars")
History[]
When Iconian gateways emerged activated across the galaxy, the Jenolan Dyson Sphere jumped 50.000 light-years into the Delta Quadrant. The Gold was trapped inside, unable to break the doors sealing the construct. Sometime later, Gold's supplies began to run low, another gateway inside the Jenolan Dyson Sphere opened and spit out a Voth Citadel-class dreadnought and the USS Dyson. The Voth ignored the Starfleet vessels and prepared to engage incoming Undine vessels. USS Dyson transported engineers and supplies to the Gold before engaging the attacking Undine squadrons. These entered by blowing up a massive door, destroying the Voth dreadnought in the process. With the assistance of IKS Bortasqu' and RRW Lleiset, the Undine fleet was eliminated. With the immediate threat averted, all four ships returned to the Solanae Dyson Sphere, twenty thousand light-years away. (STO mission: "A Step Between Stars")

The Gold was probably meant to be the same vessel as the Destiny-class USS Gold that appears as part of Star Fleet Battle Group Omega.
