The USS Grissom (NCC-96380) was a 25th century[2] Federation starship, a tier 6-rated Grissom-class light science vessel prototype in Starfleet service from the 2400s[1] decade. (STO website: House United: It's Time for a New Genesis)

Service history and disposition[]

The Grissom was derived from the 23rd century Oberth-class science vessel but the ship's design benefitted from 25th century engineering. It was equipped with a phased-space membrane, a technology based on the Federation's failed interphase cloaking device. (STO website: House United: It's Time for a New Genesis)

In 2401, Cadet Maxwell Nagata, a command division student at Starfleet Academy, was assigned to the Grissom by a faculty member with the rank of admiral. (PIC episode: "The Star Gazer")

From the year 2410, the Grissom represented its class in Starfleet Shipyards Operations interfaces at Khitomer Alliance shipyard facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - House United mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Alliance flag officers deployed Grissom for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - House United mission: "Admiralty System")

Following the Battle of Excalbia on stardate 84999.22[4] in early 2411, a damaged Grissom spent time docked inside Earth Spacedock. Starfleet workbees performed repairs on the ship's hull. (STO - J'Ula's Discovery missions: "Measure of Morality (Part 2)", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

The Grissom received upgrades alongside the Clarke-class USS Clarke. (STO website: House United: It's Time for a New Genesis)
