The USS Halcyon (NCC-9010) was a Federation starship, a Thomas Paine-class class IX frigate starship that was in service to Starfleet in the 24th century. This vessel was a successor in its name after an earlier vessel, the Avenger-class USS Halcyon, which was lost in the 23rd century.
Construction of the Halcyon was completed on reference stardate 2/9310, in the latter part of the 2350s decade. This vessel was commissioned at one of the two shipyards that produced Paine-class vessels, either Deneva Shipyards or Gibraltar Shipyards. The Halcyon was recorded as being lost, whereabouts unknown, on stardate 2/9706. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual)
- It is possible this ship was named for Halcyon, an inhabited planet located in the Alpha Baratis star system. This world was mentioned in an earlier FASA publication, FASA RPG module: The Federation.
