The USS Hastings (NCC-4404) was a Larson-class Federation starship in service in the 23rd century.

Service history and disposition[]

The Hastings entered active service on reference stardate 1/9711. On stardate 1/9910, the Hastings re-entered service after undergoing a refit to mk II specifications. She was later refit to mk VI specifications and relaunched on stardate 2/1304, and then later to mk VII specifications on stardate 2/1701. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)

In 2269, the Hastings was under the command of Commander Charles E. Stuart. That year, the ship carried representatives from the Gorn Hegemony to Maltharin II to halt attacks on the Federation by renegade Gorn. (FASA RPG module: Demand of Honor)

The Hastings was the first vessel to conduct a planetary survey of Andorgha in the Kappa-1 Apodis system. However, the starship mysteriously disappeared during the mission and was presumed lost. A follow-up mission was conducted by the USS Vincennes, which also disappeared. (TOS video game: The Kobayashi Alternative)

By the 2280s decade, this ship was succeeded in name by a new Enterprise-class heavy cruiser, the USS Hastings. (ST video game: Starfleet Command)
