The USS Hawking (NCC-81897) was a Federation Merian-class starship, in Starfleet service in the late 24th century. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)

In 2381, the Hawking under Captain Bal Itak was refitted with a quantum slipstream drive and assigned to Project Full Circle: a Starfleet expeditionary force into the Delta Quadrant. (VOY novel: Full Circle)
