The USS Heisenberg was a 24th century prototype Leviathan-class Federation science vessel starship, one of three advanced, classified vessels assigned to Project Sign.
Specifics[]
Her bridge appeared to be three times the size of the Sovereign-class bridge and featured holographic displays for 20 stations. The ship used a great deal of holographic technology, and many of the crew were holograms. The vessel had a state-of-the-art sickbay. (TOS novels: Dark Victory, Preserver)
Service history[]
In 2375, James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott visited Heisenberg. Their EMH performed lung replacement surgery on Kirk. (TOS novel: Dark Victory)
Captain Hu-Linn Radisson subjected Jean-Luc Picard to a holodeck simulation of the historic disaster of the Nautilus at Europa based on surviving records from the ship's operations monitors, with safety protocols turned off.
Later, Radisson met William T. Riker aboard Heisenberg, presenting a simulation of the War of Martian Independence in her ready room. (TOS novel: Preserver)
