The USS Henrietta Leavitt (NCC-3849, also known as USS Leavitt) was a Federation starship, a Ptolemy-class transport tug of the Doppler-subclass (Mk VIB), ordered for construction in the 23rd century.

Service history and disposition[]

Construction of Leavitt was authorized by the Starfleet appropriation of stardate 4990. (ST reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual)

The stardate given would seem to suggest this ship was ordered during the TOS era in the late 2260s decade. Vessels of the Ptolemy-subclasses are named primarily for well-known astronomers.

In the year 2275, when the USS Enterprise was assigned to be the test vessel of the prototype of the inversion drive apparatus, the Henrietta Leavitt was assigned to take the Enterprise's place in patrolling the Coma B patrol corridor. (TOS novel: The Wounded Sky)
