In the year 2376, she was assigned to find the tribbles a new home planet. On Epsilon XVII, this home was found by Varitek, Motter, and Caruso. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "Second Chances")
- This ship was most likely named for the Norwegian scientist, adventurer, and author, Thor Heyerdahl.
