The USS Idaho was a Federation starship, a Galaxy-class explorer in Starfleet service in the late 24th century, named for the North American continent's state of Idaho on Earth.

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2369, the Idaho and the USS Madison were assigned as part of a small task force of Starfleet and Klingon vessels to assist the USS Enterprise-D in meeting the second invasion of the Furies. The Idaho was commanded by Captain Jim Kiser. (TNG - Invasion! novel: The Soldiers of Fear)

In 2370, the Idaho and the Madison, docked at Deep Space 9 and helped prevent a second war between the Federation and the Cardassian Union after a disruption to the First Annual Deep Space Nine Poker Tournament by the Ghost Riders of Espiritu. (DS9 novel: The Big Game)

In 2371, the Idaho, Madison, and USS Bosewell were assigned to escort the ancient Jibetian starship Nibix to Deep Space 9 so it could be protected under Federation jurisdiction. (DS9 novel: The Long Night)

In 2373, the Idaho was the closest vessel to the Madison and the USS Defiant. The Idaho was part of the small fleet to battle the Mist Grey Squadron. (DS9 - The Captain's Table novel: The Mist)
