The USS Kardashev (NCC-99630) was a 25th century Federation starship, the tier 6-rated Kardashev-class command Dyson science destroyer prototype in Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. The factions that would form the Khitomer Alliance incorporated Solanae technology from the Solanae Dyson Sphere into their ship designs to develop the Dyson science destroyers in 2409. Years following the experimental rollout, Alliance engineers refined the hybrid technologies further. The Alliance launched a trio of Dyson science destroyer classes in 2411. The USS Kardashev was equipped with an upgraded networked protonic shield matrix, used on the previous generation of Dyson-infused science vessels. All three of the new destroyers were armed with the experimental dual heavy proton emitter, a proton-based experimental weapon. (STO website: Both Worlds: The Dyson Bundle!)
The Kardashev entered service during the alliance between the primary universe Khitomer Alliance and the extradimensional Aetherian Concordium against the mirror universe Borg Kingdom during their multiversal conflict in 2411. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Scorpion's Abyss")
Following its launch, the Kardashev represented its class on the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interface at Khitomer Alliance shipyard facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
