The USS King Richard was a Federation starship in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century.
In 2248, the King Richard, under the command of Karis Tatenen, was involved in two battles with Klingon starships. In the first encounter, the King Richard encountered some Klingon scout ships operating near Pakheth, and quickly dispatched them. However, this engagement proved to be a prelude to the King Richard's encounter with several Klingon battleships at Vonra.
Despite being outnumbered and out-gunned by the battleships, the King Richard continued to fire volley after volley at the them until the starship emerged victorious. Despite this, the King Richard had suffered serious damage, with air leaking out of the starships bridge, half of the phaser banks out and the warp core on the verge of suffering a breach.
