For other uses, see Kirk.

The USS Kirk (NCC-91277) was an Exeter-class Federation starship in Starfleet service during the early 25th century. (STO novel: The Needs of the Many, ST video games: Star Trek Online, Legacy of Romulus)

History

Ensign Miral Paris was assigned to the Kirk, in the security division, at some point after her graduation from Starfleet Academy in the mid-2390s. (STO novel: The Needs of the Many)

Eventually, Paris gained the title of security chief on the Kirk. By the year 2409, the Kirk was commanded by Captain Thelin. (STO - Klingon War missions: "The Kuvah'Magh", "City on the Edge of Never")

The Kirk was part of a fleet also containing the USS Forrest, Rideout, Terev, and Texas that responded to reports of an Undine Tethys-class dreadnought in the P'Jem system. Starfleet was victorious and the Undine vessel was destroyed. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Diplomatic Orders")

While on patrol in the JFS 47 system, the Kirk was ambushed by a squadron of Klingon vessels under the command of Ambassador B'Vat. Kirk was quickly crippled and boarded. Another Starfleet vessel arrived and assisted the Kirk, but not before Lieutenant Paris was kidnapped by B'Vat as part of his plan to change history by time travel. (STO - Klingon War mission: "City on the Edge of Never")

Later that year the Kirk was part of a joint Starfleet/Klingon Defense Force battle group that responded to New Romulus to help repel a major Elachi attack on the Romulan Republic. (STO - Vengeance mission: "Devil's Choice")

In 2410, the Kirk was part of the team of Federation, KDF and Romulan Republic ships that tried and failed to defend the Preserver Archive on Lae'nas III from an Iconian Herald attack. The ship was severely damaged during the battle, requiring extensive yard time, and now-Lieutenant Commander Paris was temporarily transferred to USS Bern. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Delta Flight")
