The USS Lafayette (NCC-7033) was a Federation starship, a Miranda-class light cruiser in Starfleet service in the late 23rd century. Its commanding officer was Captain Anderson. (TOS - DC second series comic: "Partners?")
History and specifications[]
The Lafayette was active in the 2280s decade. It differed from the Reliant-subclass by including a second rollbar. This beam connected the warp nacelles, and also suspended a pod between them. (TOS - DC second series comics: "Partners?", "Partners?, The Startling Conclusion!")
In the year 2288, the Lafayette was in the Needran system's outer region when attacked by Tyrions. The crew was saved by IKS qul HoH, a Klingon vessel, also in the area. In accordance with Starfleet policy on the Needran defense, the Lafayette was outfitted as a light cruiser, matching the qul HoH's configuration. When the heavy cruiser USS Enterprise-A arrived on the scene, the Klingons responded in kind by sending a heavier vessel, the battle cruiser Qapla. By the mid-24th century, this ship would no longer be in service, being succeeded by a new USS Lafayette, an Akira-class cruiser. (ST video game: Armada)
