The USS Magellan (NCC-71820-A) was a Federation Vanguard-class star cruiser active in Starfleet in the early 25th century.
In 2409, the Magellan was assigned to the Allied Zone of the Solanae Dyson Sphere. The ship was ambushed by the Voth, and the commanding officer and first officer were killed and the ship disabled. The Magellan sent a distress call which was answered by a friendly starship. The responder deployed repair teams and fended off a Voth counterattack until the Magellan could escape. (STO - Solanae Dyson Sphere mission: "Mayday!")
- Based on its registry number, the Magellan appears to be the successor to the USS Magellan (NCC-71820), a Dominion War-era Galaxy-class starship.
- The Magellan can also appear as any class of Federation cruiser.
