In the Kelvin timeline, the USS Mayflower (NCC-1621) was a Federation starship, a Mayflower-class ship of the line in Starfleet service in the 2260s decade. Mayflower entered service as a successor to the previous USS Mayflower (NCC-1621), lost at the Battle of Vulcan in 2258. (TOS movie & novelization: Star Trek, ST video game: Fleet Command)
History[]
In 2258, the USS Mayflower (NCC-1621) was a Mayflower-class vessel. Its hull consisted of a round saucer section, with a pair of warp nacelles hanging below the saucer on short nacelle pylons. (TOS movie & novelization: Star Trek)
Ships lost at the Battle of Vulcan were replaced with namesakes before the year was over. (TOS - Legacy of Spock comic: "Part 4")
Thus, another Mayflower was launched between 2258 and 2262. Improvements over its predecessor included a deflector dish inserted into the bottom of the saucer, in front of the ventral sensor dome; and a Saladin-class-inspired extension leading from the impulse engines at the rear of the saucer to the bridge dome in its center. This structure contained the shuttlebay.
During the war between the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire in the trilateral Neutral Zone, starting on stardate 2262.45, the Mayflower (II) served as a Federation science vessel. At one point, the Mayflower was attacked by an Independent ship under contract with the Orion Syndicate. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
