The USS Merian (NCC-81904-E) was a 31st century Federation starship, the class prototype of the tier 6 Merian-class command science dreadnought, in Starfleet service in the 3180s and 3190s decades. (STO website: Shadow's Advance: The Merian Class Joins the Infinity Lock Box!)
Service history and disposition[]
Namesake and predecessor[]

The 24th century USS Merian.
A ship named USS Merian was active in the 24th century. Starfleet deployed it in the Trexelian Expanse, where the Merian saw combat action. (ST video game: Trexels)
The Merian-class explorer was commissioned in the 2380s and served as a science vessel. (SOTL calendar: Ships of the Line 2012)
Active service[]

The Merian-E at Kinjer.
A new Merian-class had entered service by the 3060s. Ships of the class were destroyed in the Burn in the year 3069[1]. (DSC episode: "People of Earth")
The modern Merian was a command science dreadnought, which combined the features of command ships with science dreadnoughts, the latter of which was already a symbiosis of science vessels and dreadnoughts. The Merian-E survived the Burn and travelled back in time from the 32nd century to the 25th century. In 2411, the Merian patrolled planetary orbits in the Kinjer star system.
This ship was labelled with the NCC prefix, and its registry number carried the "-E" suffix that indicated it was the sixth ship to bear this registry and name combination. (STO website: Shadow's Advance: The Merian Class Joins the Infinity Lock Box!)
