The USS Michigan was a 24th century Federation starship, a Defiant-class destroyer in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. This vessel saw action in combat against the Borg. (ST video game: Armada)
Service history[]
The USS Michigan had entered service by 2376. In that year, the Borg Collective launched an invasion of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants to secure an Omega molecule. The Michigan was among the Starfleet ships deployed against the Borg in the Borg Invasion of 2376. (ST video game: Armada)
Six months later, in 2377, the Borg attacked the Alpha and Beta Quadrants again after they became embroiled in a renewed conflict with the Undine, known only by their Borg designation "Species 8472". The Michigan was one of several Defiant-class destroyers fielded by the Federation against the Borg and the Undine. This included counter-attacks by Starfleet leading into the Delta Quadrant and fluidic space. (ST video game: Armada II)
On stardate 54771.6, the Michigan was part of a joint Borg-Starfleet counter-attack on Species 8472. The fleet, led by the Borg Queen and Captain Jean-Luc Picard, entered fluidic space through quantum rift Alpha. Following the destruction of the Rift Maker, the Undine invasion was over and the Borg and Federation fleet returned to the Hurik star system, where the Federation-Borg alliance was called off by Picard, and the Borg were escorted back to the Borg transwarp portal. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "Rifts")
