The USS Monitor (NCC-91890) was a 25th century Federation starship, a Venture-class advanced research vessel in Starfleet service from the 2410s decade. (STO - Refractions mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Service history[]

Namesakes[]

Monitor Venture class

The older Venture-class Monitor in 2410.

A Nebula-class USS Monitor (NCC-61826) operated under Starfleet's aegis in the 2360s decade. (TNG episode: "Brothers")

In the year 2410, Starfleet commissioned the USS Monitor (NCC-83800). This vessel represented a synergy between the Venture-class cruiser's design and a Nebula-class science vessel's skeleton. (STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Active service[]

Cygnus-92190

A Cygnus-class battlecruiser.

The new USS Monitor, registry number NCC-91890, entered service in 2411. It was a equipped with a wide mission pod that included a fly-through hangar bay. The design of the Monitor derived from assembling the components of a Cygnus-class battlecruiser in the configuration of a Nebula-class starship, with the addition of a dorsal mission pod. Alternatively, the addition of a notch at the bow of the saucer section and the wide, angular mission pod differentiated the Monitor from the similar Sutherland-class. (STO - Refractions mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

At that time, the Khitomer Alliance and Imperial Starfleet forces loyal to Admiral Leeta had just succeeded in stopping Terran Emperor Wesley Crusher's assault on the Sol system. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "The Fujiwhara Effect")

In Starfleet Shipyards Operations shipyard interfaces, the Monitor visually represented its variant. (STO - Refractions mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
