Sonya Gomez transferred to the Oberth in 2368, following a three-year assignment aboard the USS Enterprise-D. In 2369, Gomez transferred off of the Oberth to the USS Sentinel. (SCE eBooks: Invincible, Many Splendors)
- The USS Oberth is likely named after Hermann Oberth, a Austro-Hungarian-born German 20th century pioneering space rocketry engineer.
