A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). The USS Olympic (NCC-58550)[2] was a 24th[1] century Federation starship, an Olympic-class research science vessel[2] in service as the prototype of Starfleet hospital ships. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)

Service history and disposition[]

USS Quito

The Olympic at Deep Space 9 in 2371.

The Olympic was commissioned in the year 2361. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)

In 2371, the Olympic helped to evacuate civilians from Deep Space 9 when a plasma storm was approaching the station. (DS9 video game: Harbinger)

The Angosian Starfleet officer Baeta Leyoro served aboard the New Orleans-class USS Jefferson and the Olympic-class USS Olympic before reaching the rank of lieutenant. (TNG - The Q Continuum novels: Q-Space, Q-Zone, Q-Strike)

Leyoro served as Worf’s replacement during his transfer on Deep Space 9. During Dr. Lem Faal’s experiment to pierce the galactic barrier she was introduced to Q and his family. Almost immediately she took a dislike to the immortals due to their blatant disregard for mortals. She wished to take aggressive measures against Q but was restrained by Captain Picard. Q compared Leyoro to the deceased Natasha Yar. (TNG - The Q Continuum novels: Q-Space, Q-Zone, Q-Strike)

From the year 2410, the Olympic represented its class on Starfleet Shipyards Operations interfaces in Khitomer Alliance shipyard facilities across the galaxy. A sister ship with the same name, the USS Olympic (NCC-58550-B) represented the Olympic-class Beta variant. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Alliance flag officers, deployed Olympic for missions around Milky Way's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
