The USS Omega (NX-240000} was a 31st century Federation starship, the Omega-class prototype in Starfleet service in the 3060s decade. (STO website: Unleashed: Command the Omega Miracle Worker Light Battlecruiser!)

The Omega was the first Starfleet ship constructed after galaxy-wide cataclysm known as the Burn eradicated 96% of Starfleet on stardate 749047.7. Its commanding officer was Captain Delacourt Sato, of the Sato family. (TLS comic: "Issue 1")

In the year 3069[3], the USS Sagan was part of a fleet engaged in a diplomatic game of pursuit with a pair of Gorn starships. On stardate 749047.7, Captain Sato concluded negotiations with the Gorn to become Federation members. In that instant, dilithium went inert across the Milky Way Galaxy, causing all starships to explode. The Sagan lasted long enough for the chief engineer to modify a torpedo with a transporter buffer and sent four members of the bridge crew to Earth. During a briefing of surviving Starfleet captains led by Vice Admiral Sekat, Borg Queen Agnes Jurati appeared and offered an alliance between the Federation and her Cooperative. The offer was accepted by Captain Sato and construction began on the USS Omega, the only Starfleet ship with faster than light capability.

The Omega was built in a ring-shaped Federation shipyard from the 800-year-old, 23rd century spaceframe of the Discovery-class USS Theseus (NX-1987). All of the surviving Sagan crew accepted service on Sato's new ship. The Sagan was built by hand and included Borg technology. (TLS comic: "Issue 1")

One month after the Burn, the Omega was engaged in battle by the Black Path, a force of Klingon extremists, at Jupiter. (TLS comic: "Issue 2")

25th century[]

The Omega at Io in 2411.

The 25th century was a front in the Temporal Cold War. Thus, personnel and technology from across the timeline were utilized by Khitomer Alliance members in that era. (STO - Yesterday's War mission: "The Once and Future Agent")

The Khitomer Alliance classified this vessel as a tier 6-rated miracle worker light battlecruiser, combining aspects of miracle worker ships and light battlecruisers. The Omega was the first Alliance vessel with the Attack Pattern: Kirk-Omega special weapon, which improved sublight flight speed and transwarp recharge time. (STO website: Unleashed: Command the Omega Miracle Worker Light Battlecruiser!)

Downtime, the Omega carried the NX registry number prefix denoting an experimental vessel. Its appearance was mirrored in other Omega-class starships, like the USS Tegucigalpa (NCC-92962). Ships of the class were equipped with 32nd century Federation phaser weapons and standard-issue quantum torpedo launchers. (STO website: Unleashed: The Last Starship)

From 2411 onwards, the Omega represented its class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders, Dominion Vanguard Fleet and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - New Dawn missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Ceremony", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the Omega alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
