The USS Ontario was a 24th century Federation starship, a Galaxy-class command cruiser in Starfleet service around the 2360s and 2370s decades. (ST video game: Birth of the Federation)
Service history[]
The USS Ontario had entered service 15 years prior to 2366, in the year 2351. At the time, Alonzo Freeman served as the ship's first officer. His wife Ensign Carol Freeman took a sabbatical from Starfleet to raise their daughter Beckett Mariner. In 2366, Doctor Katherine Pulaski questioned the now 35-year-old Ensign Freeman why she had not returned to work aboard the Galaxy-class starship fifteen years ago. (LD - Lower Decks comic: "Yesterday's Beta Shift")
In the late 2360s and early 2370s, the Ontario was among the command cruisers fielded by Starfleet to defend holdings across the galaxy against hostile incursions by other galactic powers. The Ontario saw action in combat in the defense of Federation worlds. (ST video game: Birth of the Federation)
