The USS Opaka (NCC-91784) was a 25th century Federation starship, a Discovery-class long-range science vessel in Starfleet service from the 2400s decade. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Second Wave")

Service history and disposition[]

The Opaka, named for the former Bajoran kai Opaka Sulan, was active during the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410.

In the year 2409, the Opaka was present at Deep Space 9 for the Borg Conference when the 2800, a temporally displaced Dominion fleet, invaded DS9. During the evacuation of the station, the Opaka came under attack from Jem'Hadar ships but was saved by the intervention of an allied vessel. The Opaka then joined the fight to save other conference visitors before returning to DS9 to fight off Jem'Hadar reinforcements. However, Loriss and her First Kar'ukan controlled too many ships for the allies to covercome. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Second Wave")

The fleet regrouped under the command of Captain James Kurland and Commander Mesi Achebe at Bajor. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Of Bajor")

Alternate timeline[]

In the War of the Prophets alternate timeline, the USS Opaka was a kilometer-long Bajoran Ascendancy starship in service to a faction of Starfleet in the year 2399. (DS9 - Millennium novel: The War of the Prophets)
