The USS Paradox (DRI-01) was a prototype Federation Starfleet Timeship in the late 24th century.
Service History[]
The Paradox was an experimental design of starship produced by the Daystrom Institute. The Paradox was the first ship outfitted with Shunt drive, which allows the ship to travel through space at speeds much greater than Warp drive, as well as travel through time. It required only a very small crew, since most functions could be handled by the onboard M-10 computer. (NF comic: "Turnaround")
Doctor Alyssa Wyant of the Daystrom Institute provided a successful demonstration of the shunt drive to Federation Admiralty, Admiral Edward Jellico commandeered the Paradox. Jellico piloted the Paradox to Space Station Bravo, and opened fire.(NF comic: "Turnaround, Part I")
