The USS Passaro (NCC-52670) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Steamrunner-class heavy frigate[1]/blockade runner escort[2] in Starfleet service in the 2380s decade. (LD episode: "Old Friends, New Planets")
Service history and disposition[]
Nova Fleet pursues the Passaro.
In the year 2381, Nicholas Locarno formed the independent Nova Fleet group and seized control of the USS Passaro. When he failed to recruit Lieutenant junior grade Beckett Mariner of the USS Cerritos to his cause, she grabbed Locarno's Genesis Device and fled from his flagship, the Nova 1. Mariner and "Genie" beamed aboard the uncrewed Passaro and attempted to run the blockade of the trynar shield around the Detrion star system. Mariner used her mother's, Captain Carol Freeman's, command codes to assumed command of the Passaro and designated "Genie" as first officer.
The Passaro was pursued by Vrek's warbird, Cosmia's interceptor and Gem's starship until it evaded the trynar shield. Locarno then personally chased the Passaro into an unstable area of space with the Nova 1. He beamed aboard and engaged in a one-sided firefight with Mariner. She had activated the Genesis Device to keep it out of Locarno's hands and was rescued by Captain Freemand and the Cerritos captain's yacht. Locarno remained on the bridge of the Passaro. When he failed to stop the countdown, the device activated and destroyed the Passaro. The new planet it formed was named Locarno. (LD episode: "Old Friends, New Planets")
