Service history and disposition[]

The 25th century Pathfinder.
In the 2410s decade, the name Pathfinder was carried by the Pathfinder-class long-range science vessel prototype USS Pathfinder. Following the re-activation of the Iconian Gateway Network across the Milky Way Galaxy in 2410, the Pathfinder was requisitioned by Starfleet to lead new four-quadrant strategy of exploration. Starfleet Command hastily assembled survey squadrons. The Pathfinder was assigned to the 403rd Survey Squadron. (STO Collection Issue 07: "USS Pathfinder")

Mission to Earth.
At some point around stardate 865783.7[2] in the year 3190, the Pathfinder had entered service.
The Pathfinder participated in the Federation effort to evacuate Earth before its impending destruction by the Dark Matter Anomaly. Just as it reported that its deflector shields had dropped to 10 percent, Fleet Admiral Charles Vance ordered the fleet to retreat. The DMA was stopped when Federation President Laira Rillak and delegates convinced the extragalactic Species 10-C to shut their destructive mining device down. (DSC episode: "Coming Home")
