The USS Phinda (NCC-97500) was a Federation Avenger-class battlecruiser in Starfleet service in the early 25th century. (STO missions: "Second Wave", "Fluid Dynamics")
Service history[]
In 2409 the Phinda was stationed at Deep Space 9 during an international conference on the threat of the Borg. When this conference was interrupted by the sudden emergence of 2,800 Jem'Hadar warships from the Bajoran wormhole, the Phinda moved to defend shuttles fleeing the starbase and came under attack by the Jem'Hadar. She was rescued by another starship and escaped. (STO - The 2800 mission: "Second Wave")
Later that year the Phinda joined a tripartite expedition into fluidic space led by Rear Admiral Tuvok, intending to investigate an upswing in Undine activity. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Fluid Dynamics")

Background[]
This section is written from the Real World point of view. |
Exactly which class the Phinda falls into is remarkably inconsistent, even for Star Trek Online. She can appear in "Second Wave" as virtually any Starfleet science vessel, escort, or cruiser, and in "Fluid Dynamics" may be either an Avenger-class or a Typhoon-class. However, she consistently spends the main mission stage of "Fluid Dynamics" as an Avenger-class, and so we have identified her as such in this article.
The Phinda, along with its companion vessels USS Fletcher and Opaka, can be destroyed in "Second Wave", but this can be assumed to be non-canon given its later appearance in "Fluid Dynamics".
The registry number given in "Fluid Dynamics", NCC-97500, appears to be the default for any Avenger-class not otherwise labeled.
