For the mirror universe counterpart, see ISS Phoenix.
For other uses, see Phoenix.

The USS Phoenix (NX-95560) was a 24th[2] and 25th century Federation starship, a tier 5-rated Phoenix-class advanced escort in Starfleet service from the 2390s[2] to the 2410s[3] decades. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Service history and disposition[]

Namesakes[]

The original Phoenix spacecraft was a 21st century Earth vessel. It was the first Human vehicle to break the warp barrier in the year 2063. It was named for the mythological Phoenix, a bird rising from fire. Several other Federation starships have borne the name. (TNG movie: Star Trek: First Contact)

Active service[]

In the 2390s, Starfleet commissioned two starship classes as new iterations of the 2370s-era Prometheus-class. Initially, multi-vector assault mode was deemed too impractical to implement. The experimental registry number NX-95560 was shared by both the USS Phoenix and the USS Cerberus, lead ships of the Phoenix- and Cerberus-class advanced escorts, respectively. Ships of these classes saw action in the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410. (STO website: Ships of the Line)

In the year 2409, the MVAM became standard issue for tier 6-rated ships derived from the Prometheus class, including the Phoenix. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

In the mirror universe, the ship's counterpart was the Terran Imperial Starfleet Phoenix-class patrol escort ISS Phoenix (NX-95560). That Phoenix was occasionally summoned by Tholian weaponry unleashed in the Azure Nebula. (STO - New Romulus mission: "Azure Nebula Rescue")

From 2410 onwards, the Phoenix represented its class on the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interfaces at Khitomer Alliance shipyards across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Delta Rising mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

The Imperial Klingon Defense Force employed the Phoenix on Order of Builders interfaces. (STO - Empire mission: "First City")
