Service history and disposition
In 2376, the Polaris was operating out of Starbase 51, when Admiral Leonard James Akaar ordered it to assist the USS Gryphon, the USS T'Kumbra and the USS Sagittarius in stopping Hiziki Gard, believed to be a host to a bluegill parasite, from reaching Trill.
The Polaris and the other ships later fired on, the Gryphon, as they were correct in believing a parasite was aboard the Gryphon and was using it to head to Trill. The Polaris and the others stood down when Kira Nerys had the Gryphon send a message to Captain Solok using the Gryphon's phasers.
