The USS Ptolemy was a 22nd century United Earth starship, a Daedalus-class vessel in Earth Starfleet service in the 2150s decade.

Service history and disposition[]

Ptolemy saw action during the Earth-Romulan War in the 2150s.

In the year 2156, it was one of the Starfleet ships dispatched to Berengaria VII to repel the Romulan Star Empire forces who had claimed the system in the First Battle of Berengaria in November 2155 and destroyed Earth Starbase 1.

On 2 April, Ptolemy was one of nine Daedalus-class cruisers in the fleet that took part in the Second Battle of Berengaria. Romulan warships destroyed the Ptolemy and six of its sister ships in the battle.

In the aftermath of the battle, tactical officer Lieutenant Malcolm Reed reported that the seven ships had been lost with all hands to Captain Jonathan Archer, commanding officer of Enterprise NX-01. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
