The USS Raging Queen (NCC-42284) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Curry-class[1] variant medium cruiser[2] in Starfleet service in the 2370s decade. The ship was assembled from various classes to fight the Dominion. (DS9 episode: "A Time to Stand")
Service history[]
Development and construction[]
To compensate quickly for losses sustained by Starfleet in the Dominion War in the 2370s, the Starfleet Reactivation Plan of 2367 was redirected towards constructing ships of the Frankenstein Fleet. Beyond reactivation and refitting 23rd century Miranda- and Excelsior-class starships, the Frankenstein Fleet specifically included incomplete vessels combined into functioning starships. (Star Trek Adventures module: Gamma Quadrant Sourcebook)
The Raging Queen also incorporated Constitution-class components. (DS9 reference: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)
The USS[1] Raging Queen was named after a fictional pirate sailing vessel Raging Queen. Its NCC registry number NCC-42284 was higher than the Curry's, NCC-42254. (TOSC Issue 116: "USS Curry")
Wartime service[]
In early 2374, three months into a Dominion War filled with battles of engaging and retreating from the Jem'Hadar, the Raging Queen was one of the surviving ships of the Starfleet 2nd Fleet. By this time, the Second Fleet had been reduced to a third of its original size. Another survivor in the fleet was the Curry. (DS9 episode: "A Time to Stand")

The USS Curry and the USS Raging Queen belonged to the same class. Both ships used components of the Miranda- and Excelsior-class cruisers, but on the Raging Queen the warp nacelles were connected to the rear of the saucer section with a pair of corrugated warp nacelles.
Later in the war, Captain Benjamin Sisko organized a major operation that successfully retook Deep Space 9 from the Dominion. However, the Second Fleet tried to liberate the Betazed system thrice from the Jem'Hadar. (TOSC Issue 116: "USS Curry")
