The USS Renown was a Federation starship, an Intrepid-class cruiser in Starfleet service in the late 24th century.
History and specifics[]
The Renown was in service in the late 2370s decade, around the year 2379.
In 2379, Renown's commanding officer was Captain Sherman. He relieved Jean-Luc Picard from the Unity One construction site and was responsible for the inner security of the starbase both during the final phases of construction and the inauguration. The Renown fought against three Rakelli warships in the defense of the station. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)
This is one of a number of ships to be so named, succeeding the earlier Akira-class USS Renown and followed by the Regent-class USS Renown by the 25th century. (ST video game: Armada, STO video game: Star Trek Online)
